Introducing Compass: the co-pilot for researchers

By accelerating research design and analysis, Compass gives insight leaders back time. Time to apply judgement, curiosity, and experience to their work, and to deliver clarity and confidence when it matters most.

We’re excited to launch Compass, our new research co-pilot for insight leaders. Compass is designed to draft, edit, and analyse research based on your goals, helping you move from question to insight faster. It takes care of the manual elements of the research process so you have more time to think, explore, and deliver insight that actually shapes decisions.

Why we built Compass

The reality for research professionals

Insights teams are being asked to move faster every year, often with fewer resources and tighter timelines. At the same time, the bar for quality, clarity, and impact keeps rising.

Research professionals already have the skills to ask the right questions, interpret nuance, and build strong stakeholder relationships. What they don’t have is enough time to do that work properly so we built Compass.

We wanted to build an AI co-pilot that can actually make a difference to a researcher’s day. We took a thoughtful approach to designing a co-pilot that can take care of core research tasks like survey creation or building your initial data story to save you time.

The reality of the research process

Much of the research workflow is still manual. Drafting surveys, checking quality, getting analysis started, and recreating views of data all take time and effort. As datasets grow more complex and expectations increase, these steps become bottlenecks.

That friction doesn’t just slow teams down. It limits how much they can explore, how confidently they can challenge assumptions, and how effectively insights are used across the business.

We designed Compass to remove that friction.

How Compass works

Compass supports you across the research process, starting with your goals.

Survey creation: Tell Compass what you need to understand and it will design a survey aligned to your objectives. If you already have a draft, you can paste it in and Compass will program it for you, handling the manual setup and sense-checking quality along the way.

Survey analysis: When it comes to analysis, Compass helps you get started and go deeper. Ask where to begin with your data, query specific questions, or explore patterns you might not have thought to look for. As a neutral analysis tool, it can surface unexpected findings and suggest new angles worth investigating.

Data storytelling: Compass also supports the iterative process of data storytelling. Create Boards tailored to different stakeholders, add narrative to charts, and refine your story through conversation as your thinking evolves.

Throughout, Compass works the way insights teams do: collaboratively, flexibly, and with context.
